Topsham Mural

Main wall panorama
Main wall
Light and space looking into the distance with clouds overhead
It works from all angles
The girls and the family dog direct the viewer into the scene
More corners and angles but the view is uninterrupted
Notice how the corner of the wall disappears
Vignettes of birds and boats as an avocet feeds near your feet
This is viewed first on entering the kitchen area

Painted in a house in Topsham. The mural covers 2 rooms, opened through as one. The scene continues over the walls and ceilings in both areas so that the viewer is surrounded by the scene and has the feeling of actually being there. At the same time it’s like living inside a painting and entering into the world of an artist.

Murals like this can be used to create the illusion of space and make a room feel much bigger than it actually is. Even the corners of the rooms seem to disappear.

The subject of this mural was based on the wishes of the owners of the house and I’ve included their two daughters and their dog.

High quality murals can add value to a house as well as give many years of joy.
